Sarah & Joe’s Beautiful Spring Wedding at Brentwood Cathedral & The Lion Inn, Boreham

April 08, 2026

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Sarah and Joe’s incredible wedding day, and honestly… wow, wow, wow! From the sunshine to the laughter and unforgettable moments, this was one of those weddings that reminds me exactly why I love being a creative wedding photographer in Essex.

If you're planning your own wedding and looking for inspiration for unique wedding photos, this day had it all.

A Perfect April Wedding Day in Essex

When couples ask me about spring weddings, I always say April can surprise you — and yesterday it absolutely delivered!

The weather was simply amazing. Bright sunshine, beautiful light, and warm spring air created the perfect setting for relaxed, natural portraits and candid moments throughout the day.

Great weather always helps, but what really makes a wedding unforgettable is the people — and Sarah and Joe were surrounded by the most fun, energetic guests who brought incredible vibes from start to finish.

A Beautiful Ceremony at Brentwood Cathedral

Sarah and Joe were married at the stunning Brentwood Cathedral, a breathtaking setting that always photographs beautifully.

The cathedral’s dramatic architecture and soft light provided the perfect backdrop for timeless ceremony photos — the kind that couples treasure forever.

Sarah looked absolutely incredible in her dress from Adore Brides, while Joe looked sharp and full of excitement as he waited to see his bride.

The moment Sarah walked down the aisle? Pure magic.

The Celebration Continues at The Lion Inn, Boreham

After the ceremony, everyone made their way to the fantastic The Lion Inn for the reception.

If you're searching for Essex wedding venues full of character, this place is an absolute gem. With gorgeous gardens, stylish interiors, and plenty of space for guests to celebrate, it’s a dream location for both weddings and creative wedding photography.

And what a party it was.

Sarah and JOe brought so much of their personalities into the day — which always makes for the best photos. Joe is a creative soul… and as we discovered during the celebrations… he can also sing! Boom! Safe to say the guests absolutely loved it.

Moments like that are exactly why I focus on capturing authentic, unscripted wedding moments.

Incredible Suppliers Who Made the Day

A wedding like this doesn’t happen without an amazing team of suppliers:

Makeup by Makeup by Jaimie Attfield

Flowers by The Little Pink Co

Magic entertainment from Nick Crown Magic

Special thank you to Joe from The Bearded Photographers for seconding for me for the boys!

Each one helped make the day truly special for Sarah and Joe.

Creative Wedding Photography Moments

Throughout the day we captured a mixture of:

Relaxed natural portraits

Candid guest moments

Creative couple shots

Fun evening celebrations

These are the kinds of images that tell the real story of a wedding day — not just how it looked, but how it felt.

For couples planning their own wedding, one of my biggest tips is simple:

Make the day your own.

Sarah and Joe did exactly that. Their personalities were woven through every moment — and that’s what creates the most unique wedding photos.
