Lucy & Paul’s Wedding at High House Weddings | Creative Essex Wedding PhotographyThere are some weddings where everything just seems to fall perfectly into place. The couple are incredible, the venue is stunning, the suppliers are brilliant, the atmosphere is electric — and as a wedding photographer, you know you’re in for one seriously good day. Lucy and Paul’s wedding at High House Weddings was exactly that. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be a wedding packed with personality, emotion, laughter and plenty of opportunities for some seriously creative wedding photography. It was an absolute pleasure to be there to capture it all. A Wedding Day Full of PersonalityOne of the things I love most about wedding photography is that no two weddings are ever the same. Of course, there are the traditional moments — getting ready, walking down the aisle, the confetti, the speeches and the first dance — but what makes a wedding truly memorable are the little moments in between. The looks between the couple. The reactions from family and friends. The moments nobody planned. The ridiculous dance moves. The laughter. That's where I love to work. My approach to creative wedding photography in Essex is all about combining those genuine moments with dramatic, carefully considered portraits that give couples something completely different from a collection of standard wedding photographs. Lucy and Paul gave me plenty to work with! Creative Wedding Photography at High House WeddingsHigh House Weddings provided the perfect backdrop for the day. There is something particularly special about photographing a wedding at a venue that gives you opportunities to create different looks throughout the day. Rather than simply photographing what is in front of me, I’m always looking for ways to use the surroundings, available space and lighting to create unique wedding photos. For me, wedding photography isn't simply about documenting what happened. It's about creating images that make you stop scrolling. The photographs that make you think, "Wow, I want that on my wall." Those are the images I’m always looking for. Making the Most of Your Wedding PortraitsOne of my biggest tips for couples planning their wedding is to make a little time for your photographer. You don't need to disappear for an hour and miss your reception. In fact, I much prefer keeping portrait sessions relatively short and purposeful. A few minutes at the right time can be enough to create something amazing. The key is having a photographer who knows how to work quickly, communicate clearly and make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. And don't worry if you're not naturally comfortable having your photograph taken. Most people aren't. You don't need to know what to do — that's my job. The Details That Make the DayThe team of suppliers involved in Lucy and Paul's wedding played a huge part in bringing everything together. From the bridal styling and flowers to the cake, entertainment and ice cream, every element contributed to the atmosphere of the day. And these details matter when it comes to your wedding photography. I always make time to photograph the things you've spent months planning. Your dress. Your flowers. Your rings. Your stationery. Your cake. The room you've spent hours designing. The little details that might seem insignificant on the day but will mean so much when you look back at your photographs years later. Choosing the Right Essex Wedding PhotographerIf you're currently searching for a wedding photographer, my biggest piece of advice is simple: Choose someone whose photographs make you feel something. It's very easy to compare photographers based purely on packages, prices and how many hours of coverage they offer. But you're not really buying eight or ten hours of photography. You're investing in how you'll remember one of the most important days of your life. Look through full wedding galleries rather than just a photographer's favourite ten images. Look at how they photograph people, emotions, details, venues and the moments that happen when nobody is looking. And most importantly, make sure their style matches what you actually want. If you're looking for creative wedding photography, dramatic portraits and unique wedding photos, then that's exactly what I love creating. Lucy & Paul — Thank You!Lucy and Paul, thank you for trusting me to capture your incredible wedding day. It genuinely was an absolute pleasure from beginning to end, and I loved every moment. The combination of an amazing couple, an incredible venue and a fantastic team of suppliers made this one seriously memorable wedding.
