The Storyteller : The First Responders of Danbury

March 01, 2015  •  1 Comment

Hello all and welcome to my first blog! It has been a long time coming, but it is finally here.

Over the past few months I have been asking myself how can I do a blog! I have looked at what seems like hundreds of blogs via Twitter and Facebook, and the one thing I wanted to do was show something other than my photos from the Weddings I have done. That is not to say that I wont be doing that, because I will, however I have decided to concentrate on the project I am calling The Storyteller.

These blog posts are going to focus on people/organisations which help others, or have a story to tell about their life. I have several people lined up over the next few months with some interesting stories, so watch this space!

Todays post is all about a group of volunteers who I have worked with before........The First Responders of Danbury, Essex.

The First Responders of Danbury also cover Bicknacre, Little Baddow, Woodham Mortimer and Woodham Walter and others within the County of Essex. The group of 13 Volunteers gave their time up, and in 2014 the total time given was 7615 hours! Also in 2014 they attended 484 calls from patients in the villages suffering from potential life threatening medical conditions. As of the beginning of Feb 2015 they had already attended 42 calls.

I visited the group on the 23/02/2015 during their monthly meeting. This meeting was focusing on resuscitation and the safety of the First Responders, and how they would deal with any potential threat, harm or risk. The following photos are from that meeting. I hope you enjoy. If you would like any further information about being a First Responder in Danbury area, then you can find more information out via their website.

Thanks, and Enjoy.

These folks are literally live savers....... having been a special of 11 years, I know how much commitment it takes to do something truly worth while for the community and not always being recognised for it! Well done Dale for highlighting such a great team, doing something so worthwhile...
